Thoughts of the day

Swag

-SO when i hear the word swag, I think of the tern, swagger. Which comes from Winnipeg "Swaggerville". But then i realized that Swaggerville sucks because the Winnipeg Blue Bombers aren't really good at playing football.
-Another thought that comes to the mind when i hear the term swag, is cool. Now I'm not sure who exactly came up with the word swag being cool but i think that if someone says you're swag, they are referring to you as cool, or hip if you will.
-And finally, when i hear the word swag i think of me and my friends. The main reason for that is because we are swag. Eat, breath, sleep, swag.

You don't choose the swag life, The swag life chooses you…

Dialogue and Non-verbal body language

"Bro, lets take a white girl selfie" said Jon, he moved towards the mirror and angled his body appropriately.
"No way, lets be thug" protested Eric.
"Okay fine, this is stupid why are we taking selfies" Jon started to walk away.
"Because we're cool that's why."Eric grabbed Jon by the arm and yanked him back towards the mirror.
"Word." he said while rolling his eyes.
"Okay i took it, look." Eric passed that phone to Jon.
When Jon's eyes hit the picture, the corners of his mouth start to raise.
"This picture is so mint." He said while nodding his head.
"I hate it." Eric slumped over on the couch beside the mirror.
"Nah, dats dope boi!" Jon practically shouted.
"Aight swag lets bounce yo." Eric got up and thumped out the door, with Jon following casually behind.

Imagery Paragraph- Looking for Alaska

A decision I found myself regretting some hours later when I awoke to two sweaty, meaty hands shaking the holy hell out of me. I woke up completely and instantly, sitting up straight in bed, terrified, and I couldn't understand the voices for some reason, couldn't understand why there were any voices at all, and what the hell time was it anyway? And finally my head cleared enough to hear, "C'mon, kid. Don't make us kick your ass. Just get up," and then from the top bunk, I heard, "Christ, Pudge. Just get up." So I got up, and saw for the first time three shadowy figures. Two of them grabbed me, one with a hand on each of my upper arms, and walked me out of the room. On the way out, the Colonel mumbled, "Have a good time. Go easy on him, Kevin."

Quick Write- Minion

If i had a a set of minions for a week i feel like my life would be so much more easier! Minions are helpful when you need help, so when i needed help doing something i would call them to make my life easier. That may sound a bit selfish, but really, if you had the change to make your life easier wouldn't you do it ? I don't know, i'd obviously keep responsibilities that are mine but just the little things that i would need extra hands with i'd definitely call  my little minions to lend a helping hand! In return to them helping me do things i'd pay them back in cookies, because who doesn't love a yummy cookie?! Minions would help me everyday for a week and i feel like i'd get a lot of use out of them while i had them, and take full advantage of the fact that i had them for some time!

Quick Write- Which Door?

This quick write is asking me which door would i be temped to step through if i had the choice. Hands down as soon as i saw the doors i immediately picked the Hogwards door. The reason why i picked Hogwards is because  i grew up reading Harry Potter. I've probably reread the series at lease 10 times if not more. I fell in love with Hogwards. The idea of it, the people inside to school, the endless possibility, everything about Hogwards attracts me. If i could, i would  live in that world forever instead of this one. Harry Potter not only reminds me of my childhood, but as i continually reread each book i realize something that i missed before, or something that stands out that never stood out before. I take it under a different perspective and that's why i love it, every time i read them they never get old. Hogwards is a door that i'd step through any day and experience everything that Joanne created.

6 word memoir de-briefs

What did I learn about storytelling ?
By doing this project I learned that storytelling doesn't always have to be a long story. A story can be as little as 6 words, and it still makes sense. As long as you add the appropriate punctuation. I also learned that story telling is really quite difficult if your not 100% focused. I find it hard because you don't have enough words to explain yourself.

Where did I show my knowledge about using storytelling skills ?
I used my storytelling skills by using the appropriate punctuation and also putting my point across with only 6 words. I found only using 6 words to create a message was very difficult so by summing up all the ideas into 6 words per picture wasn't easy.

What did I learn as a reader, writer, thinker, and storyteller ?
As a reader I learned that you have to look/read outside the box, or read between the lines. With only 6 words to explain a story is very difficult so it takes an open mind and imagination. As a writer, and as a thinker I learned that you really have to be creative and make them all work together. As a storyteller I learned that there is so many different things you can do to improve your story, ex. Punctuation.

Quick write: Medical emergency response traveling by dinosaur.

I lay on my back and just listen; listening to every single noise around me. One particularly stands out, a cry, almost a whimper. Its fairly close to the window. I glance to my right to discover that its 4:00 am. No, he can wait for a few more hours. Trying to slip back into my slumber, the crying gets louder. Sure enough the phone starts to ring. I roll myself to the closest side where the phone is. My body is sore from head to toe- i need to invest in some new equipment for riding i think.
"Dr. Cohn speaking" My greeting is always formal.
I listen very closely to the voice on the other line and quickly hang up once I've understood the message. i jump out of bed and throw on a clean pair of clothes. Racing out towards the whimper i say,
"okay boy, you ready?" i don't think he's ever been so excited to see me. I feed him an apple i was able to snatch from the kitchen on my way out. His response makes my laugh.
i suit him up, put all the medical tools i need on his right side, and all extras on the left. I set the latter on his left side, careful not to set it on his huge toe. It usually takes me about 5 minutes to get on him comfortably. When i sit down on his back, the sensation of the pain comes rushing back- i definitely have to invest in some new riding gear.
"Alright boy, you know what to do. Lets go!"

The big blue dinosaur thumps into the sunrise, about to fulfill his duty.

Quick write-robot

My future robot will have many talents, including to help my with my time management. It will schedule all my appointments in the future when i have a successful career. It will also help me with planning events and organizing the "small details". This robot will be of great assistance as far as helping me with everyday life as i need. It will listen to me and obey everything i say to it. It wont be too bulky or big, a normal size, definitely smaller than your average human. Its only motive will be to make my life easier in the future because i'll be very busy and a robot like this will cost a lot of money. This robot will be designed by experts, nothing will go wrong, it will be fool proof.

Six Word Memoirs #8

Authors note:
This picture was taken at my cabin this past summer. The reason why i chose this picture is because it has a sense of calmness and peacefulness. "The journey has yet to begin..." refers to everyday life in general, but can also relate to the lake. You see what is in the picture frame but we don't see whats beyond the frame. The "..." was added in there because we're waiting for the journey to begin so its very open ended. i chose not to edit this picture because i loved the original copy i didn't want to take away from the original colour.

Six Word Memoirs #7

Authors note:
I love this picture ! i love the way the text is big and sprawled on the picture and i like the texture of the picture. I decided lower case letters for this picture because i wanted it to be a little more girly (if that makes sense). its just such a happy picture (and that tea was delicious too!) This picture was taken at Baked Expectations in Osborne Village. I added the comma because imagined people to say the phrase "is tea" to be softer then the rest.
